Our Services

Retail and e-commerce sustainability work is being rebuilt around AI tools right now. What hasn't changed is that someone needs to decide if the output of a tool actually means anything, and take final responsibility for the work, e.g., for the methodology choices, data architecture, or supplier engagement. This is where we focus our work.

ASRS Reporting & Compliance

For Group 2 retailers reporting from FY26 and Group 3 from FY27, the first reporting cycle sets the methodology, data architecture, and governance baseline that auditors will test for years to come. If executed well, it gives the business a real climate risk picture, but if not, it produces plausible-looking information that will fail its first assurance.

We work with retail and e-commerce clients across the full ASRS lifecycle, with assistance from AI tools and a particular focus on the parts these tools cannot make decisions about for you:

  • Materiality and financial risk assessment specific to your business model

  • Climate scenario analysis tested against your actual stores, supply chain, and freight footprint

  • Scope 3 boundary decisions and methodology selection (spend-based vs activity-based)

  • Governance and internal control design, including board literacy and named accountability

  • Data architecture and audit-trail design, with or without an AI platform underneath

  • Final report preparation and assurance-readiness review

Best for: Group 2 and Group 3 retailers in or approaching their first reporting cycle.

Sustainability Strategy

A sustainability strategy is only useful if the operations team can actually execute it. Our work starts with what your business actually does, what it sells, how it sources, where it ships from, and builds a strategy around the real operational levers.

  • Materiality assessment to international standards (GRI, with double materiality where required)

  • Gap analysis against peers and standards

  • Stakeholder engagement (internal and external)

  • Quantified target setting (SBTi-aligned where appropriate)

  • Roadmaps with realistic operational sequencing

  • Sustainability reporting to GRI, ISSB & ASRS standards

Best for: retailers building a sustainability function, refreshing an outdated strategy, or preparing for investor or customer scrutiny.

Emissions Reduction & Circularity

The operational underpinning to most of the other work. We measure what is actually happening, identify where the meaningful reductions are, and design programmes that procurement and operations teams can run.

  • Carbon emissions baselining and assessment (Scopes 1, 2, 3)

  • Lifecycle analysis for material product categories

  • Energy and waste audits

  • Packaging assessment and APCO reporting

  • Lower-impact materials sourcing strategy

  • Supplier engagement programmes for primary data collection

Best for: retailers wanting to move beyond spend-based emissions reporting to data that actually informs decisions, and brands with packaging or product-stewardship obligations.

Modern Slavery Reporting

Modern Slavery statements are increasingly the part of compliance that gets pattern-matched by AI tools, and increasingly get called out for being generic. We focus on the work that makes the statement defensible and useful: real supply chain mapping and supplier engagement, and a risk management process the business actually runs.

  • Supply chain mapping (tier 1 and beyond where material)

  • Supplier risk assessment and engagement

  • Modern Slavery risk management and due diligence design

  • Remediation planning where issues are identified

  • Annual statement preparation and review

Best for: retailers reporting under the Modern Slavery Act, or larger organisations whose suppliers are now reporting and need help responding to the upstream pressure.

How We Engage

Two engagement models, depending on what you need:

Full-service delivery:

We run the work end-to-end, from data architecture through to final report. Best for first-time reporters, where in-house capacity is thin, or where the deadline is tight.

Advisory + capacity-building:

Your team executes, we steer and review. Best for companies who want sustainability managed in-house long-term and need senior capability to get there. Often the right fit for clients with an emerging Head of Sustainability or an ESG-curious finance team.

We're explicit about which model fits your situation and we will tell you when full-service isn't necessary. Goal of our joint work is for your business to be able to do it well, not for you to need us forever.
